SenseCube

Three mechanisms in one cube: a wheel on top, a slider on the side, a button on the front.

Every earlier design did one thing. Talking to other students, I kept hearing that the right fidget changes with the mood. SenseCube is my answer: rotate, slide or press without changing devices.

01The mechanism

How it works.

What this one taught me: Packaging: three mechanisms share one 40 mm cube, and every one of them needs room to move.

The main cubic body is the structural enclosure. On its upper surface a rotating wheel with a central cap allows repeated rotational movement.

One side carries a sliding control that moves horizontally, and the front face a press button that moves inwards when operated.

Each component provides a different interaction. The engineering challenge is arranging several moving parts inside a compact enclosure.

02Parts

Every part, named.

Dimensions are from my STL files. Parts without a file are printed as part of a neighbour or are plain primitives in the model.
